We were given a brief to produce a short animated promo for a game called Micros that was being developed by our tutor. My contribution in this animation with my classmate was the penguin, main scenes and part of the opening scene, and large cupie doll – an idea I got from our family business at the Royal Melbourne Show selling the cupie dolls. The idea that they could be an overpowering, larger-than-life character in an animation was a contradiction to expectations. This character provided a surprising element to the game. We used a combination of Illustrator and Flash, to draw and animate the characters and scenes. My classmate added the opening scene, Micros characters, audio tracks, and final output. Even though it was my first ever animation and the editing is a bit rough, I was reasonably happy with the result.
